THIS right here. My declaration of love. An insight into my world. The ultimate obsession and a forever challenge.

Most of the moments captured below are film. Some are digital. Which do you love more. Which is YOUR moment?

And if you scrolled this far, I wanted to show you the difference between digital and film shots. Both of the bottom shots were taken at the same place and time, so the lighting was identical. The photo on the right took me about 10 minutes to get it to look the way it does with all the micro corrections it required. Photo on the right is a straight out of the camera, shot on Contax 645 using Fuji Pro 400H rated at 200 (Which means that I just metered it at 200 ISO at the darkest shadows on the model’s skin). So how can I ever go back to digital after seeing that film isn’t just perfection for skin color (of course it depends on what film stock you buy) but is also almost 3 dimensional with no post production work on my part. My model looks like she is about to walk off the screen, hey eyes are piercing through, and I feel like I am right there with her. Neither of these things are achieved with digital (and it has its reasons) without major understanding of what tweaks to make. And don’t get me wrong - I LOVE shooting digital, I just prefer film when it comes to portrait photography - its true magic.
